Our shrinking globe places a greater emphasis on the need for awareness regarding appropriate business behavior. It is no longer acceptable for Americans to expect other cultures to act the way we do and conduct business in the same manner.

The understanding of the various protocols, encourages the ability for individuals, companies, and organizations to learn the skills that once achieved will transcend any culture, pocketbook size, or age, and build the bridge of trust necessary in any negotiation.

Remember, that acquiring and implementing business etiquette and protocol skills is not about making your life more difficult. When you move with ease and confidence in any situation you will have the freedom to now focus on the business at hand.

The principles of getting along at one level are precisely the same as getting along at any of the other levels, whether socially or for business. For example, if you are not pleasant to be around, you won't be pleasant to be around wherever you are in the world. The context changes, but offensive behavior is basically received the same in any language.

A principle for living may be used to damage one's self, or to help one's self along the road toward success. Which do you choose?
